Sanjay Desai is a self-taught watercolour artist from India. Design engineer by training, he took an early break from his career to concentrate on his passion of watercolour. In his profession and his leisure, he has travelled extensively within India and in many countries. He believes that recreating the atmosphere of a location is the most important task in making a good painting. He spends time observing quality of light, shadows, shapes, architectural details, people, light, food, aromas in order to make the paintings authentic. He is fast and bold in his execution and does not believe in sticking to one style or limited subject. He has exhibited his paintings internationally, delivered demonstration in watercolour festivals. His paintings are in collection of people across the world. He lives in Pune in the state of Maharashtra.
